The installations by Iris Eichenberg and Jeroen Bodewits find their origins in a collaboration between two artists from rather different backgrounds.

They share an interest in three-dimensionality and contextuality. In the present exhibition, the various elements of their work do not actually merge into one system, but rather form two parallel installations that express their connection in and through their contrasting operations.

The material realization of the exhibited objects gives expression to aspects of gender, of femininity and masculinity, through divergent ways of working through a common theme.

The unique spatial context of Huisrechts — two opposing walls separated by a hole in the floor — constitutes the foundation for two different elaborations of a system in which each artist tries to come to grips with human relations, a theme that makes itself felt in each of the exhibited objects.
